The view of the lake is worth it alone. The brunch is brilliant…and the Streak & Mistake features a lovely cut of beef, cooked perfectly with a chimichurri drizzle that will ruin you for other places that do steak ‘n eggs. I had an insane moment when I wanted to order a second, “hold the sides” steak (although the sourdough bread, salad and potatoes were savoury and filling). Dare: I challenge you to eat the steak and NOT close your eyes once like Meg Ryan did in When Harry Met Sally. The staff (at both locations) set the industry standard. Amazing people. A tad expensive…but great experiences are worth paying for. The music could use some work (picture a radio station chosen by a long-hair in a concert tee-shirt with high-tops) but the decor is on point. You must grab a bite here.

Stopped into Plank Resto Bar in Oakville on our way into Burlington. The place was packed and had a nice atmosphere, and the service was totally fine. We ordered a few items and everything was good, but nothing really stood out or felt memorable. It’s in a great downtown spot, so it’s easy to walk around after, but food-wise, I’m not sure I’d rush back. Solid experience overall, just not one that left a big impression. I’d give it a 7.1. #TomEatsYummyFoodBecauseWhyNot

Beautiful restaurant and bar. Awesome location right on the water with a cool vibe. The waitress we had was extremely nice and accommodating and attentive. The only downside for me was the food was is a little too fancy. Switch the menu to some more traditional meals and comfort food and you would have five stars from me! Otherwise an awesome place to have lunch and a cocktail.
